ROLLING HILLS VILLA

The brief on this project cinsisted on the reconstruction of a relatively compact villa, located in a exclusive neighbourhood in the suburbs of Tirana. While conceiving garden and the landscape around the villa, emphasis was put around the positioning of a swimming pool with a longitudinal layout, which in its reduced size, would still allow the owners to have a good swim. The landscape design was in essence, consists of three layers circumventing the dwelling.
The outer layer consisting of the greenery coming from the grass lawn, undergow and trees. The other layer consisting of the pathways in ceramic tiles, surrounded by resin bound gravel which also serves as a draining area.

The interior space of the villa was totally redesigned from ground up. Only the outter walls, openings and staircase remained from the original construction. The living area is located on the ground floor. On the western wing the space is divided between the livingroom and a smaller dining area, while on the east side there is the kitchen and a powder room.
